Clarmondial has partnered with the Smallholder Safety Net Upscaling Programme (SSNUP) to support an investee of the Food Securities Fund. The investee will receive a Technical Assistance (TA) grant to improve the livelihoods of cashew and mango farmers in Burkina Faso.
The project has three objectives:
- Improve the production practices of 3’000 farmers through trainings on good agricultural practices to improve climate resilience and make positive contributions to biodiversity.
- Support the organic certification of 5 farmer cooperatives to ensure the continued access of 4’500 smallholder farmers to the organic market.
- Contribute to women’s economic empowerment by working with the 5 cooperatives to strengthen their organizational capacity and promote female leadership.
SSNUP is a program funded by the Luxembourg Directorate for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Affairs, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the Liechtensteinischer Entwicklungsdienst. ADA ensures the coordination as well as the knowledge management component of the SSNUP program.
